“Mallika said she will take anything we give her. She’s just happy to be part of a brand like ‘Dhamaal’ and that too opposite Sanjay Dutt,” said Thakeria.

Part two is titled “Double Dhamaal” and it will be directed by Indra Kumar.

It seems after reaching a dead end with her career in Bollywood and with her purported global re-re-re-launch in “Hisss” showing no sign of release, Mallika is delighted at being accepted back in Hindi movies.

So far she has only a few hits like “Khwahish”, “Murder” and “Pyar Ke Side Effects”, not counting the cameo with Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor in “No Entry”. And the release date for “Hisss” has now gone from August to November.

Meanwhile Kangana Ranaut, who will also feature in “Double Dhamaal”, has been very generous about the remuneration as well.

“Kangana’s work is looked after by Rakesh Nath (Rikku). My director Indra Kumar and I go back a long way with Rikku (who was secretary to Madhuri Dixit who starred in Thakeria-Indra Kumar’s ‘Beta’ and ‘Dil’). So Kangana said money was not an issue here,” said Thakeria.

Kangana is paired with Riteish Deshmukh in “Double Dhamaal”. Javed Jaffrey, Aashish Chaudhary and Aftab Shivdasani will also feature in the film.

The producer of the film Sai Kiran Adivi has directed the opening shot while executive producer Vimal gave the clap and camera was switched on by one of the producers Mahi.

Director Sai Kiran Adivi, who had earlier directed films ‘Vinayakudu’, and ‘Village Lo Vinayakudu’, is now producing this film. Moon Water Pictures banner will present this flick. Ramana Selva is wielding the megaphone for the first time. Suma Bhattaacharya who hails from bollywood is making her tollywood debut with this film opposite Varun Sandesh.

While Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was the show-stopper, celebrities like Raveena Tandon, Dia Mirza, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Tusshar Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Suzanne Khan added to the bling off the ramp as well.

Titled ‘Adaayein’, the line celebrated Indian craftsmanship with intricate work in emeralds, rubies and sapphires. The line also had pieces in polki and diamond mix and Farah said it was a combination that will go well with Indian as well as western outfits.

The range had an interesting mix of necklaces, chokers, bracelets, bangles, earrings and cocktail rings.

Though Farah launched her label way back in 2004 and has around 15 years of experience in this field, this is the first time she has launched her India inspired line.

“Everything has a right time and I feel the occasion of Independence Day was apt for this line. I couldn’t have found a better day than this,” Farah said after the show late Sunday.

Asked why she chose Deepika as her show stopper, Farah said: “Well she is dusky, she is beautiful and she has sharp Indian features…so I thought she is the best as a show stopper.”

It will also feature 1,600 stalls displaying the works of 776 exhibitors, and participants from Thailand, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Turkey and the UAE will also set up their stalls.
